Partner Spotlight: The Skin Collective

Chantelle, Owner of The Skin Collective in Sauble Beach, Ontario

Hello friends! Chantelle here; When I’m not softening faces or choreographing yoga bits, you can find me wandering aimlessly — whether that’s in a damp + mossy forest, flailing about in the deep end (water — swimming!) or, just from one end of my house to the other! Always exploring, but not necessarily getting too far. I’ve given my best go at mastering the art of our craft for 15 years now! I’ve done it all; from grungy dive bars of the industry, to the jiviest joints in town. What a long strange trip it’s been - I now work alone and for myself, and have somehow merged those 2 worlds and called it home.

If there’s one thing I think we should all have in our treatment rooms, it’s a doorway that’s divinely protected. Acting as a portal to ultimate soul rest. I bless the ever loving heck out of my doorway; affirm that as soon as someone walks through, they’re immediately cleansed and transported. In all honesty, I don’t know where they go! But when they come back, they seem quite pleased!

And we all need good products! I sometimes feel like a misunderstood garden gnome, but I’m also a complete nerd when it comes to proper formulation, the microbiome; well, skin science in general! It’s important to me that my products are gracious but also performing; so I merge the 2 worlds together! I like different products for different reasons, but there’s nothing quite like that Facial in a Bottle. I feel like it takes the cake because it’s almost a hybrid of the best parts of all the other products!

Working with Sorella Apothecary/EBM has really been such a breath of fresh air. It’s a human to human connection. We’re all just a group of women sharing love and appreciation for each other and damn good product! Elite Beauty (Kerri and Holly) lifted me up after a really low point and gave me, my career path and my business new purpose and direction. The exchange has always been equal and they’re eager to help in whatever weight or capacity I need and I’m so grateful for that.

Pro tip for Lone Rangers! Know when to step away, and take fun vacations when you can! (If possible) hire for the duties of the business you loathe or struggle with. It’ll give you more energy, focus, and life giving vitality for everything else!

My favourite pro product is the Marine Mermaid Mask! Doesn’t seem to matter the skin type, it works perfectly in its own way for everyone. It’s a 911 for redness and inflammation, and reducing that alone makes for such a tremendously evident before and after for my clients! And they love that super cold sensation once apples.
